A clearer next step for your Oak Ridge home.
Oak Ridge homes range from Manhattan Project-era Cemesto houses and flat-top homes in Pine Valley and Elm Grove to the postwar Woodland and Scarboro neighborhoods and later single-family subdivisions. Whatever you own, Doorbloom helps you explore your options with real estate professionals at your own pace.
Oak Ridge was built quickly during World War II, and much of that housing still stands. Around three thousand Cemesto houses, lettered by type, went up in Pine Valley, Elm Grove and along Outer Drive, north of the Oak Ridge Turnpike. Smaller flat-top homes were built too. Some early house types are seen as forerunners of the postwar ranch. Many of these homes are now private residences, often updated over the decades.
After the war, the Woodland and Scarboro neighborhoods were built under a 1948 master plan, adding new house types and apartment buildings. Later subdivisions brought more conventional single-family homes. Because many houses here are older and were built with wartime materials, clear information helps. Describing your home honestly, including roof age, foundation or crawl space, past renovations, any known asbestos-containing materials and termite history, helps the right professionals respond.

What does it cost?
Creating an account and telling us about your home is free for homeowners.
Who sees my information?

Can I sell a house that needs work?
Yes. Describe the condition honestly, including known issues. It helps professionals who are looking for homes like yours respond with realistic expectations.
Do I have to accept anything?
No. You can review interest, ask questions, and walk away at any point. You decide if and when to move forward.
How can I check property taxes or recorded liens on an Oak Ridge home?
Property tax balances are handled by the Anderson County Trustee, and recorded documents like deeds and liens by the Anderson County Register of Deeds. Links to both are in the official resources section on this page. Oak Ridge also extends into Roane County, so if your home is on that side, check with the Roane County offices instead.
I own an original Cemesto house. Is there anything special to mention?
Cemesto panels were made from an asbestos-cement material bonded to fiberboard, so it helps to say whether original panels remain or have been replaced. If you are unsure, a qualified inspector or testing professional can tell you more. Sharing the house type, its updates and its current condition gives professionals a clear picture.
